A Frosty morning

This morning the grass was frozen. There was tiny bits of ice on the grass. It was called frost. The frost was stiff. The frost was watery. It was very slippery. When I touched the frost my hands were very cold. I stepped on the frost and it went crunch.
By Grace

On the 28th of May in 2014 at Sunnybrae
Normal School there was lots of frost. The frost was slippery and icy cold. Kids were having lots of fun sliding down to the bottom field. It was freezing cold, then the bell went. When the teacher had called the roll we went outside again to think of adjectives to describe the frost like sliding, slippery, watery,
stiff grass, crunchy, hard, lumpy bits of ice. I was too cold to think of any more adjectives to describe the frost.

Our 'Travel Wise' Assembly

On Friday, we presented our assembly with our buddy class Room 11. Here are some of the photos. Keep watching our blog because we will write comments about the photos during the week.

If you are riding your scooter you need your high visibility vest on. You need a helmet firmly on your head and you should ride your scooter on the footpath. When you are scootering to school  you should watch out for cracks. On the road where you cross you should not ride your scooter. You have to watch where you're going if you don't you will crash into someone.
By Grace

When I scooter I wear my vest and my helmet.
By Taimane.

When I scooter to school I wear all my gear and I do not go on the road because a car might come.
By Ellen-Rose.

When you go on your bike you need to wear your helmet because you could fall off and hurt your head. You need to check your pedals because they could fall off when you are riding. Check your
brakes and your wheels because when you press on your brakes your wheels might blow out. Your screws that were keeping the brakes on might fall out and you might fall off and hurt yourself. By Madeline.

If you're on your bike don't ride your bike on the road. Wear your helmet so if you fall off your bike, you won't hurt your head. Wear your vest so the cars can see you. Check your brakes, check your wheels. By Joshua.

When you are riding your scooter you need to put on a high visibility vest. Make sure your straps on your helmet fit you and it isn't an adult's helmet because you wont be able to tighten the adult straps to your size. By Kieran

If you are in the car make sure your seatbelt is on. You need to use a booster seat until you're 148 cms tall. Don't unclick until the car has stopped.
By Carla.

When you walk to school don't walk on the edge. Watch out for sneaky driveways and cross at the crossing. Stop, look and listen before you cross the road. Hold hands with your adult or your big brother or your big sister when you cross the road and stay on the footpath. By Niki.

If you walk to school you have to walk with your family because you might get lost. Walk on the footpath and watch out for sneaky driveways.
